Safely offers an interactive map that assists you in planning a safer route. Using geo-fencing technology, user receives real-time safety reminders and alerts, and locate safe spaces within your vicinity. It offers an improved safety measure that allows you to record evidence in case anything happens, with the opportunity of warning others.

Safely provides real-time safety notifications, alerts and tips throughout your journey if there is any safety issue happened. Also, you will see the emergency buttons during your journey to ask help easily also it allows you to record an incident and automatically store proof in your camera roll if anything happened.

To feel connected and involved during your journey, it allows you to join a Safely Pod to keep you company on your way to your destination. Also, you can check user reported incidents from other individuals nearby you between user reported incidents and government reported crimes based on map.

User Research

With a increased police-reported Criminal Code incidents in Canada, safety concerns have become one of the biggest social issue. Many people feel unsafe even when they walk in their own neighborhoods. As residents of Toronto which is the largest city in Canada, our team decided to have a deeper understanding about this problem.

We conducted interviews with 5 people in person to deeply understand their experience walking home and to identifiy their needs.
